You can be doing well and still not feel like yourself

From the outside, it may look like you have everything handled. On the inside, you may feel anxious, exhausted, disconnected, or simply stuck.

Counseling gives you a place to be honest about what you are experiencing, understand what is happening beneath the surface, and begin making meaningful changes.

What this often sounds like

“I should be able to handle this on my own.”

Many of the adults I work with are capable, thoughtful people accustomed to being the dependable one - supporting everyone around them while quietly struggling themselves.

Reaching out does not mean something is wrong with you. It means what you are carrying deserves attention, and that you do not have to work through it alone.

What we often work on

Common Reasons Adults Reach Out

Anxiety and overthinking

Persistent worry, replaying conversations, worst-case thinking, or feeling unable to quiet your mind.

Perfectionism and self-pressure

Rising expectations, fear of mistakes, or feeling that your best is never quite good enough.

Stress and burnout

Feeling depleted, dreading the week ahead, struggling to rest, or losing interest in what once mattered.

People-pleasing

Saying yes when you want to say no, or losing sight of your own needs.

Boundaries

Communicating your needs, protecting your time and energy, and being honest and respectful.

Relationship and family patterns

Recurring conflict, disconnection, or family dynamics that keep affecting your relationships.

Self-esteem and body image

Harsh self-talk, comparison, appearance concerns, or feeling that you do not measure up.

Depression or low motivation

Low mood, fatigue, withdrawal, or feeling disconnected from the things you normally enjoy.

Grief and loss

Processing the loss of a person, relationship, role, opportunity, or version of life you expected to have.

Workplace stress

Demanding workloads, difficult dynamics, professional transitions, or trouble separating work from life.

Major life transitions

Career changes, moves, relationship changes, caregiving, or health concerns that leave you wondering what comes next.

Tools you can use this week

Practical support for everyday life

We may work on calming an anxious body, interrupting overthinking, identifying and expressing emotions, communicating more clearly, and setting boundaries.

I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and tailor our work to your needs rather than following one fixed program.

The deeper layer

Getting to the core of what is going on

Practical tools matter, but so does understanding what sits beneath them.

Together we may explore the experiences, beliefs, and patterns that shape how you see yourself and respond to stress - being enough, feeling responsible for other people, or believing that rest must be earned.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and holistic, with attention to the emotional, relational, physical, and (if you would like) spiritual parts of your life.
